Location Release
A location release (or location agreement) is the written permission a production obtains from a property owner to film on their property. It typically specifies the dates and hours of use, which areas may be used, how the property will be depicted, any fees, insurance requirements, and responsibilities for restoring the property afterward.
Releases matter beyond the shoot itself: they form part of the documentation reviewed for errors and omissions insurance and distribution delivery.
Public land and streets usually require permits from the relevant agency instead of, or in addition to, a private release. See scouting locations in Nevada for the full checklist. This is general information, not legal advice.
