Script Supervisor

The script supervisor is the production's memory on set. They track continuity — props, wardrobe, eyelines, actions, and dialogue matching from take to take — and record detailed notes on every take: timing, which takes the director prefers, and any changes from the script.

Those notes travel with the footage into post-production, where they help the editor find the right material quickly and assemble scenes as the director intended. The script supervisor also tracks how much of the script has been shot each day.

See dailies, rough cuts, and notes for how their work carries into the edit.
