Executive Producer

An executive producer credit is usually awarded for contributions at the project level rather than the daily running of production. Common reasons include arranging or providing financing, bringing in key talent or rights, representing a financier or studio, or overseeing the project at a strategic level.

Responsibilities vary widely from project to project; the credit is defined by agreement rather than by a single universal job description. Day-to-day production is typically handled by the producers, the line producer, and the unit production manager.
